KHE MAC 3 STREET- PARK BMX tire 20 inch x 2.40" with world's first double carcass
→ After more than two years of development work, the KHE MAC3 tire is now ready for the market. Our goal was to be able to offer one of the most stable and lightest BMX 2.40" inch street/park tires. BMX tires normally have a single-layer carcass onto which the profile is then vulcanized. However, since extremely high forces are exerted on street riding and many riders ride with over 6 bar tire pressure, we chose a double carcass for optimal stability. Instead of cotton threads, which are used in most BMX tires, the MAC3 is made with Kevlar threads. Kevlar is much more stable and lighter than cotton. The double carcass also means we have twice the number of Kevlar threads. Since Kevlar does not absorb rubber (which is the case with cotton), the MAC3 is still one of the lightest 2.40" inch tires on the BMX market despite the double carcass.
