Hubs are the technical heart of every wheel – directly influencing drive, durability, and noise. Front hubs are usually simple, with 10 mm axles and optional hubguard protection for peg grinds. Rear hubs differ significantly: Cassette hubs offer direct power transfer and a loud click, while freecoasters allow for backward rolls without crank movement – ​​ideal for street riding. Some models also offer switch options (RHD/LHD). Most BMX hubs come with sealed cartridge bearings, aluminum bodies, and chromoly axles. They are compatible with 36 spokes.
