Rims

The rim is a crucial component of the wheel – it influences stability, weight, and durability. For BMX, almost exclusively double-walled rims are relevant: they offer significantly more strength during jumps, landings, and grinds. Differences exist in width, construction (e.g., double-wall or flat profile), and material thickness. The wider the rim, the better the tire fit – important for low tire pressure in street riding. Most models are made of 6061-T6 aluminum, often with additional reinforcements or welded joints. They are compatible with standard tire widths (2.1"–2.4") and 36 holes. Brands like BSD, Cinema, Eclat, and Salt are known for well-designed construction and high-quality workmanship.
