Our goal was to be able to offer one of the most stable and lightest BMX 2.40\" inch street\/park tires. BMX tires normally have a single-layer carcass onto which the profile is then vulcanized. However, since extremely high forces are exerted on street riding and many riders ride with over 6 bar tire pressure, we chose a double carcass for optimal stability. Instead of cotton threads, which are used in most BMX tires, the MAC3 is made with Kevlar threads. Kevlar is much more stable and lighter than cotton. The double carcass also means we have twice the number of Kevlar threads.
