The rim is a crucial component of the wheel – it influences stability, weight, and durability. For BMX, almost exclusively double-walled rims are relevant: they offer significantly more strength during jumps, landings, and grinds. Differences exist in width, construction (e.g., double-wall or flat profile), and material thickness. The wider the rim, the better the tire fit – important for low tire pressure in street riding.
